Luci’s Comedy Club is the latest formation of the warehouse space built back in the 1890’s.
Marley Mecas and Josh Giesbrecht, the owners of Ashdown Market had a massive storage space behind Ashdown Market that had been filled over the years with leftover remnants of it’s past inhabitants. COVID-19 PPE storage, policatal campaign materials, lots and lots of used kitchen equipment, etc. A guy with a lot of time on his hands took it upon himself to clear out an intimate area in the back. Take out the old drywall from when it was a furniture store/Legion, expose the beautiful 2’x2’ wood beams and brick walls in the bathrooms, build a wood ceiling and a stage to turn it into an intimate comedy club.
The dream is to build an arts hub in the back. Where great comedy can be put on display for all to laugh at until their cheeks hurt. Over time, a community will grow. We’ll start offering stand-up comedy classes and run regular weekly shows that you won’t want to miss.
